Smart home systems are becoming increasingly popular. Until recently, the smart home was perceived as an affordable luxury for the elite, but today interest has clearly increased. We can expect that in the coming years they will become the standard in newly built homes and apartments.
Smart home-smart lighting
The first thing I think about when we hear the password, smart home and smart home. However, remote lighting control is more than just entertainment. Of course, no one can resist the temptation to remotely turn on and off the lights in individual rooms using a smartphone, because this is possible, but this system, in addition to convenience, also offers security. Turning the lights on and off suggests the presence of family members inside the building, and this can effectively deter potential burglars. Smart lighting also allows you to program cyclic switching on and off of lighting, for example, in certain rooms or at dusk.
Smart home-motion sensors
In combination with traditional monitoring, they are probably the best way to quickly get information about the presence of third parties in the house. When using the camera, we can get an image of what is happening at home, the camera itself will not send an alarm to the control panel or to the smartphone. That’s what motion sensors are for. Once activated, they send information that allows you to quickly respond, for example, to a security call. This is a very useful system for both home and business. Motion sensors can also be installed outside to protect the garden. They are especially useful for very large areas.
Smart home-door and window sensors
In a small house or apartment, it is not a problem to check whether all the Windows are closed. In a large cottage, you will have to run a little up the stairs. In the case of public buildings, it can take up to a day to check all Windows for one person, and there is no guarantee that someone will not open a previously closed window. Here the sensor system of doors and Windows comes to the rescue. In a matter of seconds, you can make sure that all the Windows and doors are closed. Information can be displayed on the control panel or on a properly configured tablet or smartphone.
Smart home-flood sensor
Few people have ever flooded a bathroom. It is enough to disable the washing machine and the trouble is ready. It’s worse when there’s another one under our apartment. It is unlikely that the neighbors will understand in this case. Flood sensors report the presence of water on the floor and allow quick intervention.
How to connect individual devices that will make any device smart
Smart home modules can be connected either wirelessly or wirelessly. For obvious reasons, the first solution is used in newly built facilities, where the installation of an additional installation does not affect the aesthetics. Otherwise, it is better to rely on wireless technology that uses Bluetooth modules or an Internet signal sent via Wi-Fi. The latter solution is better if we often change apartments. In this situation, you can always take the smart home system with you.
